Simeone Castelli opened his business in 1970, at a time when the workshop was all about pure mechanics, dirty hands, and a wealth of hands-on experience. He started with general mechanics, but right from the start he showed a different mindset: curious, determined, and ready to take on new challenges.
When automatic transmissions were still rare and almost no one wanted to work on them, Simeone decided to tackle what many considered an impossible challenge. With no courses, no specialized schools, no models to follow, he taught himself. He disassembled, studied, made mistakes, and tried again. This is how a specialization was born that, over the years, led him to become one of the first true pioneers in automatic transmission overhauls.
From that moment, the company grew, established itself, and became a point of reference in the sector. Today, after more than 55 years in business, the legal structure has changed and Castelli Cambi Automatici S.A.S. was born, but the soul of the company has remained the same.
Even today, Simeone is present in the workshop and personally handles the most complex tasks, such as overhauling continuously variable transmissions (CVT) and transfer cases, making available every day the experience built over a lifetime of work.
At his side works his daughter, who joined the company at a very young age, at twenty, and grew professionally alongside the workshop. A natural continuity, made up of handed-down skills, shared passion, and respect for a trade that allows no shortcuts.
